As a result of winning Stillmotion‘s gateway themed short film contest, we received one ticket to the IN[FOCUS] conference. The conference, coupled with our Pow Wow with Stillmotion, would ultimately point At First Sight in the direction we’ve always wanted to venture towards. We flew down to lovely New Orleans, Louisiana for the IN[FOCUS] event at the Royal Sonesta Hotel where wedding and commercial cinematographers gathered from all over the continent (and some overseas). The conference was jam packed with some of the best event filmmakers in the industry – including Patrick of Stillmotion, Kevin Shaninian of Pacific Pictures, Ray Roman of Ray Roman Films, David Perry of David Perry Films, Matt Davis of Life Stage Films, John Goolsby of Godfather Films to name a few. While we were down there, fitting in only a couple of hours of sleep, we made sure to capture, on film, our experience of the city and the people we met.
